OptiBac is a UK family-run business specialising in live cultures (probiotics). They are the experts in live cultures and bacteria because – put simply – that’s all they do.

OptiBac makes an amazing range of different natural bacteria supplements to suit different age ranges and different needs. These include ‘For Babies & Children’, ‘For Daily Immunity’ and ‘For Travelling Abroad’ (the names are self-explanatory!) as well as ‘Bifidobacteria & Fibre’ for supporting digestive regularity and ‘One Week Flat’ that can be supportive for those with bloating.

Here are some of the reasons we think OptiBac is a great brand to look for when choosing a natural bacteria supplement:

  • OptiBac chooses only well-researched strains of bacteria that have been tested in clinical trials, and have been guaranteed to survive stomach acidity. You can tell when a specific tested strain is used in a product because it will have a name or series of letters/numbers after the species name, e.g. ‘Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell-52’ or Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07’. (You may notice that the ingredients in some brands just say ‘Lactobacillus acidophilus’ for example, meaning they’re not necessarily using a specific tested strain.)
  • Because different species and strains of bacteria have been found to have different effects on the body, all OptiBac’s products are individually developed with selected strains to suit different needs.
  • OptiBac is always working to provide us with unique and innovative natural bacteria supplements. One of their newest products is ‘For Your Cholesterol’. Who’d have thought that a bacteria could help with your cholesterol? Yet this product contains a specific combination of three strains of Lactobacillus plantarum that were tested in a 2013 clinical trial on patients with high cholesterol published in the British Journal of Nutrition.
  • Despite producing high-quality products, using researched strains, and getting excellent reviews from their customers, the prices of OptiBac’s products are very reasonable, and this is one of the reasons they have become so popular.

We think you can’t go wrong with an OptiBac supplement!
