Sunwarrior is a small US-based company that specialises in plant proteins and plant-based supplements. They believe that plants provide the cleanest and most powerful foods, rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytonutrients.

Sunwarrior makes two main types of protein powder: the ‘Classic Protein’ which is made from raw whole-grain brown rice protein; and the ‘Warrior Blend’ made from raw pea, hemp seed and cranberry proteins. Within each type there is a ‘Natural’ version that’s unflavoured and unsweetened, and a ‘Chocolate’ and ‘Vanilla’ version that contain only natural flavours (e.g. cacao and vanilla extract) and are sweetened with stevia. What we particularly like about the Sunwarrior proteins is that they’re 100% suitable for vegans and are made using only very ‘clean’ ingredients, without sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavourings or other additives. They’re also free from gluten, soy and GMOs, and are processed at low temperatures without the use of chemicals.

If you need help deciding which to go for, the Classic Protein can be a particularly good choice for those seeking a hypoallergenic protein; whereas the Warrior Blend can provide an optimal profile of amino acids (although brown rice protein is still classed as a ‘complete’ protein). Both are excellent quality – we think they’re a brilliant option not only for vegans and vegetarians but also for anyone who needs to get more protein into their diet.

Sunwarrior also makes an excellent ‘greens’ powder called Ormus Supergreens, made with raw organic alfalfa, barley grass, wheat grass, spinach, oat grass, parsley, moringa leaf and ginger. Again, Ormus is suitable for vegans and free from gluten, soy, GMOs and artificial ingredients.
