Red blood cells are the most numerous cell type in your blood and have one main role: to carry oxygen to tissues in your body and transport carbon dioxide back to the lungs to be exhaled. Diabetes Risk Test

Throughout the day our glucose level (blood sugar) varies with our food intake so testing the glucose in our blood once doesnt give us a full picture.

The glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) test measures the average glucose levels over the previous two to three months.

Unlike other blood sugar tests, the HbA1c test can be carried out at any time of day and doesnt require fasting.

An HbA1c level of 6.5% (48mol/mol) indicates type 2 diabetes. A result of 6-6.4% would indicate a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Thyroid Health Test

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) is produced by the pituitary gland, behind the brain, and is involved in the regulation of stable amounts of thyroid hormones.

The TSH test can be used to screen for and diagnose a thyroid disorder. Hyperthyroidism includes symptoms such as increased heart rate, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, weight loss, and weakness. Whereas Hypothyroidism symptoms include weight gain, fatigue, puffy skin , hair loss, and cold intolerance.

These conditions are symptomatic of underlying problems including thyroid tumour, graves disease, thyroiditis and iodine deficiency.
